You don't leave them sitting out in the open for infantry or aggressive tanks to shoot up. You don't roll them up to enemy tanks and try to blast them on your turn. Second, with the Flak 36s, are you using your AT guns correctly? I know all the historical accounts said that the 88 was the bane of armour, but in this game-and in real life-AT guns defensive weapons. Also, target enemy fighters first with your AA-you can then use your own fighters to safely clear out enemy tactical bombers and your own tactical and strategic bombers can operate more safely when the enemy fighters are gone. 7/1 can one-shot an enemy fighter unit in clear weather when you are playing with AA Veteran. Now laugh as you see your AA rip apart enemy fighters and tactical bombers foolish enough to attack your units. If you despise enemy air power as much as I do, start with AA veteran, and take at least a couple Sdkfz. North Africa is arguably easier than Barbarossa. Also check whether you are playing with mortal heroes on-that allows a chance for heroes attached a unit to be killed whenever the unit takes damage. and hopefully there isn't something nearby that will finish them off.Ģ. But if the Pioniere have 'survivor,' they will survive the initial attack with 1 point of strength. That Crusader would normally wipe those Pioniere and get an overrun. A 2-star Crusader tank attacks them in open terrain. To illustrate-let's say you have a badly mauled Pioniere unit with 4 strength remaining. (Follow-up attacks can and will finish it off, though). Rather, survivor means that a unit will not be wiped out in a single attack as long as it has more than 1 strength. "Survivor" does not mean that a unit will never surrender. I'm not doubting what you saw, but I'm wondering if you could be conflating the "survivor" trait (has an icon of a bronze fist) with "no surrender?" Did you have a no surrender hero on that unit? That's the only way I can imagine your unit having that "perk," because otherwise, there isn't any unit in the base campaign that comes with that trait innately. To be fair i may have picked some bad commander traits, i went prototype, blitzkrieg, battle academy, and killer team.ġ. Honestly defense missions in the campaign are just not any fun when the AI gets to hit you instantly before you even get a chance to establish yourself. Thats gotta be way past their corps size. Also how the hell do they have so many more tanks. I have 2 88s and 3 bf 109s and im still getting torn to shreds by the RAF on 2/5 difficulty, also my 88s are not hurting tanks hardly at all, and further i think the toggle ability is too overpriced, you lose a movement and an attack to do nothing this turn and just have the ai immediately notice you switched to at and mysteriously begin bombing that exact unit. I very much enjoy this game, however there are a few things i think could use some work.ġ) I just had a unit surrender despite having the no surrender perk.Ģ) I would submit the save as a bug report but the manual save didn't work either, this has happened twice during Operation Crusader.ģ) For the love of god why is north africa so insanely hard.
